Sohail Khan Joins World Padel League With New Team
Actor Sohail Khan has found a new passion in Padel, a fast-growing sport in India. What started as a fun activity with his kids has now turned into a serious interest. Sohail is now the proud owner of “Khan Tigers,” a team in Season 3 of the World Padel League (WPL).
The WPL, co-founded by tennis legend Mahesh Bhupathi, will be held from August 12 to August 16 at the NESCO Center in Goregaon, Mumbai. This season will feature six franchise teams and 36 top international players.
Sohail shared how sports have always been a part of his life. “Playing any sport helps you stay focused, healthy, and away from bad habits,” he said. “Growing up, I played squash to stay active. Now, my kids and I enjoy Padel together, and it’s brought us even closer.”
He discovered Padel through his children, who regularly play the game. “Padel is fun, easy to learn, fast-paced, and very social. It’s a perfect family sport,” Sohail added.
Talking about joining the World Padel League, Sohail said the sport’s rising popularity in India made it the right time to get involved. “WPL is the perfect mix of sports and entertainment — just like the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). The matches are exciting and high-energy. I’m happy to be part of this journey.”
Sohail also said he looks forward to contributing to Padel’s growth in India. “The Khan Tigers are ready to roar. It’s going to be an action-packed season!”
With celebrities like Sohail backing it, and top global players competing, Padel in India is set to take off in a big way.
