Apple Sees Strong Growth in India with 36% Rise in iPhone Shipments in H1 2025

Mumbai, July 23 — Apple recorded a robust 36% year-on-year growth in iPhone shipments in India during the first half of 2025, according to industry data released on Wednesday.

The company also reported a 13% growth in its iPad segment, reflecting rising demand for its latest-generation devices, as per a CyberMedia Research (CMR) report.

The surge in sales was largely driven by the popularity of Apple’s newest models. The iPhone 16 series led the market with a 62% share of iPhone sales in H1 2025, followed by the iPhone 15 series at 30%. The iPhone 16e and iPhone 14 series also contributed, each holding about 4% of the market.

In tablets, the iPad 11 series dominated with a 64% share, while the iPad Air 2025 series held 25%. Older models like the iPad Pro 2024, iPad Air 2024, and iPad 10 series accounted for smaller shares.

CMR estimates that Apple’s strong performance is set to continue in the second half of 2025, potentially capturing a 33% market share in iPads and 11% in iPhones.

Prabhu Ram, Vice President of CMR’s Industry Research Group, attributed Apple’s growth to strong demand, improved affordability through financing options, a maturing ecosystem, local production, and an expanding retail presence.

He also pointed out that Apple’s growth benefits from the digital lifestyle shift in India and the brand’s solid position in the premium device market, where significant expansion opportunities remain.

“Apple’s growth trajectory in India continues to benefit from a confluence of factors: improved affordability through financing schemes, a maturing ecosystem, localized production, and deeper retail presence,” Ram said.
