India and Zimbabwe Push for Stronger South-South Partnerships
At the 2025 CII India-Africa Business Conclave in New Delhi, Zimbabwe’s Vice President Dr. C.G.D.N. Chiwenga said India and Zimbabwe can lead the “next chapter” of South-South cooperation, driving innovation, industry, and a fairer global economy.
He highlighted Africa’s fast-growing population, youthful workforce, and rising demand, inviting Indian companies to invest in lithium mining, agriculture, food processing, ICT, and infrastructure. Zimbabwe aims for upper middle-income status by 2030.
India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, reaffirmed support for Africa’s digital transformation, energy transition, and capacity building, stressing shared values of trust and transparency.
Industry leaders pointed to opportunities in mobility, SME financing, and a regional credit rating agency. Morocco’s energy ministry also pushed for deeper collaboration in renewables and technology.
The Conclave gathered over 1,600 delegates from 64 countries, reflecting strong global interest in India-Africa ties.
