Karan Johar Says Podcasts Offer Deeper, More Honest Conversations
Mumbai, July 22 : Filmmaker Karan Johar has spoken about how audio podcasts allow for deeper and more personal conversations compared to video formats. Without cameras, he says, guests feel more relaxed and are able to open up emotionally.
Karan recently launched his podcast series, Live Your Best Life with Karan Johar, on Audible. He described the podcast format as “uniquely intimate,” where it’s just the mic, the host, and the guest—no pressure to perform or look a certain way.
“There’s a special kind of connection in a podcast,” Johar told IANS. “It creates a safe space for people to be real, without feeling judged. When there’s no camera, it’s your voice, your thoughts, and your feelings that lead the way.”
He explained that podcasts help guests be their most honest and vulnerable selves. “Your face doesn’t have to talk—your heart and mind do. That’s what made this experience so special,” he added.
The 10-episode series was released just before Johar’s birthday. In the show, he talks with a wide range of guests about how they deal with life in today’s fast-paced world. The conversations are open and personal, touching on emotions, challenges, and self-growth.
Guests featured on the podcast include well-known names from entertainment, literature, business, and wellness. Some of them are Konkona Sen Sharma, Dhruv Sehgal, Mithila Palkar, Preeti Shenoy, Masaba Gupta, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Ira Khan, Neha Dhupia, Zakir Khan, and Bhuvan Bam. Influencers and entrepreneurs like Raj Shamani, Kunal Shah, Peyush Bansal, and Gary Vaynerchuk also appear.
Karan Johar’s move into the podcast space shows his interest in new ways of connecting with people. Through honest talks and heartfelt stories, Live Your Best Life aims to inspire listeners to live more openly and mindfully.
