India’s Preeti claimed the women’s 54kg boxing gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026 with a dominant 5-0 unanimous victory over Canada’s S.S. Delgado in the final at SEC Hall 5 on Saturday.
Preeti controlled the bout from start to finish, with all five judges awarding her every round 10-9 for a comprehensive 30-27 scoreline. She also scored a knockdown, highlighting her dominance throughout the contest.
The Indian boxer combined sharp footwork, accurate combinations and disciplined tactics to keep Delgado on the back foot, leaving the Canadian with little chance to recover.
The victory adds another gold to India’s boxing campaign in Glasgow and marks a major achievement in Preeti’s career, further strengthening the country’s reputation in women’s boxing at the Commonwealth Games.
