Shooting at Kapil Sharma’s Canada Cafe Sparks Tight Security at His Mumbai Home

Security has been increased outside comedian Kapil Sharma’s home in Mumbai after his cafe in Canada was attacked. Mumbai police were seen at his Oshiwara residence on Friday.

Kapil’s cafe in Surrey, British Columbia, was attacked by Harjit Singh from the banned group Babbar Khalsa. He fired nine bullets at the cafe around 2 am on Thursday. No one was hurt. Reports say the attack was because of Kapil’s comments on Nihang Sikhs’ attire during his TV show.

Kapil is still deciding whether to continue shooting for his Netflix show ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ in Filmcity.

Such attacks are happening more often in Canada. Last year, singer A.P. Dhillon’s house in Vancouver was also targeted. In November 2023, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for a shooting at singer Gippy Grewal’s house in Vancouver.

Khalistani separatism has been increasing in Canada, causing tensions with the Indian community there.
