Suresh Raina Confirms: MS Dhoni Will Play One More IPL Season for CSK
Chennai, July 4 – Former Indian cricketer and CSK star Suresh Raina has confirmed that MS Dhoni will play for Chennai Super Kings for one more IPL season. Speaking via video call at a film event, Raina said, “Dhoni is coming back to Chennai!”
The event marked the launch of a new Tamil cricket movie, where Raina will make his acting debut. Raina joined the event from Amsterdam, where he is on vacation with his family.
Raina also wished Dhoni and his wife Sakshi a happy 15th wedding anniversary, adding, “They have completed 15 years together.”
Raina expressed support for local Tamil players in CSK, mentioning names like Murali Vijay, Badri, and Balaji, saying they bring “charisma and local flavor” to the team.
On why he chose to act in a Tamil film, Raina said, “The story felt close to me. It’s about cricket, and Tamil Nadu has always supported us during our CSK journey.”
In a fun moment, when asked about acting roles, Shivam Dube said he’d be a “romantic hero,” while Raina joked that he’d be a romantic singer, playing the guitar, cooking dosa, and enjoying rasam rice with teammates.
