Vice-Principal’s Attendance Raises Questions in Kolkata Rape Case

Police are looking into the vice-principal’s attendance on the day a student was raped at South Calcutta Law College in Kasba. Her entry and exit times were marked as 9.50 but did not mention if it was a.m. or p.m. This has confused the investigators.

They think she either stayed in college till night when the crime happened or left at the same time she arrived, which seems unlikely. Police want to confirm if she was on campus during the crime between 7.30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Officers are also checking meeting records to see if the college knew about complaints against Monojit Mishra, the main accused. Two others, Jaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, were also arrested for helping him.

The case is now with the Detective Department, which added charges of abduction and causing injuries with weapons along with rape. The vice-principal has not spoken to the media about the case.
