Bandi Sanjay Urges Tirumala Temple Board to Remove Non-Hindu Employees
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has asked the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) to remove non-Hindu employees from working at the famous temple. He said over 1,000 non-Hindus are still employed there.
On his birthday, Sanjay Kumar visited the Tirumala temple and later posted on X, saying, “Why are 1,000+ non-Hindus still working in TTD? Would Hindus ever be hired in mosques or churches? This isn’t hate – it’s about dharma.” He added that TTD should focus on temple development, preserving traditions, and giving jobs only to Hindus.
Speaking to the media after his visit, the minister said people must unite to protect Sanatana Dharma and that TTD belongs only to Hindus. He also asked the TTD chairman to develop temples in Kondagattu, Karimnagar, Vemulawada, and Illantakunta in Telangana.
Recently, TTD suspended an official, A. Rajasekhar Babu, for attending church prayers every Sunday in his hometown. TTD said his actions broke their employee code of conduct as he works for a Hindu religious organisation.
Earlier in February, TTD took action against 18 employees for practising non-Hindu customs. The current TTD Board Chairman, B.R. Naidu, has stated that only Hindus should work in TTD-run institutions.
