๐ฎ Epic Drops Samsung Lawsuit as Samsung Agrees to Address App Store Concerns
Seoul, July 8 โ Epic Games has ended its legal battle with Samsung, dropping an antitrust lawsuit that accused the tech giant of blocking apps from outside its official app stores.
Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said the company is satisfied with Samsung’s response after discussions and is withdrawing the lawsuit, originally filed in the U.S. The case challenged Samsung’s restrictions on downloading apps from external sources, which Epic argued limited competition.
Although the Samsung case is now closed, Epicโs legal fight with Google over app store dominance continues.
In a separate development, Samsung announced it is acquiring U.S.-based digital health startup Xealth, aiming to strengthen its presence in healthcare tech. Xealth connects hospitals with digital health tools and has partnerships with over 500 U.S. hospitals.
The acquisition is expected to be finalized by the end of 2025.
