India Open to Sharing Development Models with NDB: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

New Delhi, July 8 – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said India is ready to work closely with the New Development Bank (NDB) to share its successful development models with other countries.

Speaking at the NDB Governors’ Meeting in Brasília, Brazil, Sitharaman praised the bank for supporting sustainable growth in BRICS and other developing nations. She said India is happy to share its experiences in digital public infrastructure, financial inclusion, and climate action.

The Finance Minister also welcomed new member countries like Egypt, UAE, Bangladesh, and Uruguay, saying this shows global trust in NDB’s mission.

She urged NDB to focus on funding infrastructure, green energy, digital transformation, and projects that support the Global South.

India will continue supporting NDB’s goals and work together to build a more inclusive and sustainable global economy, she added.
