Over 340,000 Evacuated in Guangdong as Typhoon Noul Approaches

More than 340,000 people have been relocated in China’s Guangdong Province as Typhoon Noul moved closer to the coast, local authorities said.

The storm, the 12th typhoon of the year, is expected to make landfall between Shenzhen and Huilai with typhoon to severe typhoon intensity. Emergency responses have been activated across several cities and counties, with some areas implementing shutdown measures.

Authorities have moved thousands of vessels to safer locations and strengthened flood-control preparations. China’s Ministry of Water Resources also issued flood emergency responses in seven provinces, including Guangdong, Fujian, and Hunan, urging local agencies to monitor conditions and issue warnings.
