PM Modi Meets Trinidad & Tobago President, Strengthens India-Caribbean Ties

Port of Spain, July 5 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Christine Carla Kangaloo of Trinidad & Tobago on Friday to strengthen the friendship between the two nations.

PM Modi thanked the people of Trinidad & Tobago for their warm welcome and said receiving the country’s highest honor, the Order of the Republic, was a proud moment for all 1.4 billion Indians.

He also congratulated President Kangaloo on winning India’s Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award and praised her public service.

The leaders spoke about their close people-to-people ties and promised stronger cooperation in areas like trade, technology, healthcare, agriculture, climate change, and defense.

PM Modi also invited President Kangaloo to visit India. He later addressed the Parliament of Trinidad & Tobago, where his speech was applauded more than 20 times.

Before leaving for Argentina, PM Modi posted on X, calling the visit “unforgettable” and said it added new energy to the India–Trinidad & Tobago partnership.
