🥈 Sohail Khan Makes History with Silver at Kudo World Cup 2025
Burgas, July 8 – India’s Sohail Khan has made history by winning silver in the Men’s -250 P category at the Kudo World Cup 2025 in Burgas, Bulgaria—India’s best-ever finish in the senior men’s division of the tournament.
Known as the “Golden Boy of MP,” the fighter from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh impressed throughout the competition. He reached the final after defeating strong opponents, including a dominant 4-0 semifinal win over Lithuania’s Andzej Voinius.
In a hard-fought gold medal match against France’s Quentin Miramont, the bout went into a rare third round—a first in this year’s World Cup. Despite his resilience, Sohail narrowly missed gold by just two points, settling for a historic silver.
Sohail was supported by a skilled coaching team and entered the tournament as the 12th seed, having previously won bronze at the Eurasian Cup. He’s also a former Junior World Cup gold medallist (2017) and a four-time gold winner at the Akshay Kumar International Kudo Tournament.
