OpenAI’s ChatGPT experienced a worldwide technical disruption on Saturday, with more than 1,500 users reporting problems accessing the AI chatbot.
According to outage tracker Downdetector, most complaints involved the ChatGPT service, while others reported issues with the mobile app and API. Users across countries including the US, Europe, India, Japan, and Australia faced difficulties logging in, sending prompts, and accessing chat history.
OpenAI confirmed the issue on its status page and said it had applied a fix while monitoring recovery. The company has not revealed the cause of the outage.
The disruption affected both free and paid users and came shortly after another major outage involving ChatGPT, Codex, and API services.
